Here is a rare Thermal Sample produced by Intel as an Engineering sample to validate the thermal solution for the new "Mini-Cartridge" packaging. This sample was designed to check Thermal capabilities of the new "Dixon" Core, which is physically slightly different than the old "Tonga" Core. It was built in September 1998. The first Mobile Pentium II Mini-Cartridge based on the Dixon Core was launched in January 1999.
